in a world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, and in an industry that seems to be slowly forgetting or has stopped caring about classic point & click games, inspector waffles rises above the waters by being earnest. it's fun, absurd, dark, smart and sometimes obtuse in a way that p&c games can be without it feeling like an insult.

the plot unravels in an echo of 80's detective movies and well-loved tropes without ridiculing them, the conversations are honest and not only serve to uplift the world but also to add layers to waffles, my dear, dear spotty, the villains and the rest of the cast. choosing the right conversation topics does add to the deduction-lite gameplay that lots of detective themed games forget to sprinkle over their mysteries.

also, it's full of puns, so many good puns and references to other great detective games. if you liked darkside detective, this WILL be right up your alley, mark my words. it's got heart and soft paws, what else can you ask for?

A good point and click, not too easy, not too challenging. Pretty fun, I recommend it!
