This is the home stretch: in less than a week, on June 18th, Steel Division 2 will be released for the all editions of the game except the standard edition that will be released on June 20. Therefore, this Beta Phase is the last one before the full release of the game. And while we’re at it, we wish to thank all beta testers for their support and feedbacks all along the previous beta phases.

On this day, 75 years ago, the first Allied troops waded onto shore in Operation Overlord - D-Day. We are celebrating this anniversary in the non-stop Beta of Steel Division 2 with the release of the Back to War pack. Eight new divisions from Steel Division: Normandy 44 are available now and waiting for your command. 
The Back to War pack will only be available to the players who have pre-order the game and have access to the Beta. At Steel Division 2’s release, this pack will be granted for free to all owners of Steel Division: Normandy 44. It will be a paid DLC for others. So if you haven’t, make sure to get our first Steel Division game - you won’t be disappointed!

This new Update will also feature brand-new, awesome battlefields:
With the Back to War pack, you will get four additional nations, eight new divisions, as well as 350+ units, including iconic units such the formidable Königstiger, the powerful Achilles tank destroyer or the Sherman Firefly. These divisions will be tweaked to take into account Steel Division 2’s new tactical gameplay, with the updated 3D models for the units, viewable in all their glory in the Armory. It gets even better: you will also get the chance to play with a number of exclusive units, not featured in our games previously. 
The Steel Division 2 Beta is now live and will be playable until the Game's Release on June 20th! It features all the 18 Divisions and 600+ units of the game, as well as 5 gorgeous maps and 4 exciting game modes!

As you know, players who have pre-ordered Steel Division 2
The Soviet Army will get the 3rd Guards Tank Corps, a fantastic Armored Division featuring the state-of-the-art 85mm AA/AT guns, as well as the very last of the IS-2 family, the IS-2 obr.44.
One of the most exciting new features of Steel Division 2 is the Army General, the single-player turn-based Dynamic Strategic Campaign mode, which recreates some of the most important battles of Operation Bagration. 
The different types of battalions at your disposal are modeled on real-life units: from heavy-hitting Guards tank forces to ad-hoc Kampfgruppe, or nimble and fast-moving partisan troops. Each battalion comes with action points which are used to move or assault enemy positions or to perform other actions such as digging in or deploying anti-air units. The game will tell you exactly how far a selected battalion will be able to travel, for instance. Normally, these points replenish each turn. Units without any action points left can easily be surrounded, routed, or destroyed. 
Attacking an opposing unit allows you to select if you want to do battle - taking you to a tactical battle - or if you want the AI to handle it. The type of battle (both Conquest variations, as well as Breakthrough mode with the new defensive structures) depends on the actual location of the units, if they are deployed, and if they are entrenched or not. Before entering the battle, you can see above each battalion in which combat Phase they are able to join the battle. 
Another element we made sure to get right is the Autoresolve mechanic (allowing the AI to do your battles for you). We are not only featuring an automatic Autoresolve (you click, the Combat Values of each battalion is compared, and the engagement is concluded) but also a neat semi-Autoresolve. This mechanic allows you to select which units will participate in each phase, with the battle unfolding phase-by-phase. 
Tactical Battles are different from the Skirmish battles you might be accustomed to. For instance, the economy is different. Tanks and anti-tank forces cost 3 requisition points; all other units cost 1 requisition point. Each battalion features 50 requisition points per battle phase. Also, the deployment menu now represents the units per company. 
Time to jump back into the Eastern Front battlefields, Commanders! The Phase 4 of the Steel Division 2 beta is now live until next Monday, May 6th at 3PM CEST! And this time, it's not 4 but 6 Divisions available in the game, including the return of the beloved 5. Panzerdivision and two brand-new Divisions! Everyone who has pre-ordered Steel Division 2 can access Phase 4 of the beta.
