This mod reduces the cost in stone blocks of creating flagstone floors from 4 stone blocks down to two. This does not change the attribute of not being able to reclaim any materials via removing Flagstone floors.

Yeah, that would be great. Wonder if it is something he will work on next. He is definitely still adding things just for modding. The xml patching thing added this alpha is pretty darn cool, and is supposed to really help bring mod compatibility to another level. I am glad he doesn't just knee jerk add things though, he seems to kick back and think things over for a while. I think that attitude helps bring the best experience to most systems that are added. Making sure compatibilty and robustness are looked after properly.

No, not a replacement, but I think it wouldn't be too hard to allow options via xml. Something like <characteristic><modOption><default "Red shoes"/><text>What color shoes does Dorothy wear?</text><option>Red shoes</option><option>Silver shoes</option></modOption></characteristic> should be workable....if there's the programming back end to support it ;)

Not sure if it's on the dev or just a side effect of the limitations of xml. Xml makes it super simple to change some things, but it is not a replacement for actual programming. From what I can tell, there are a couple mod libraries/tools I could use to add those options easily, I just don't even know the very basics to get that done. Hopefully I'll get around to reading up on that stuff soon, would be cool to do something just a bit more advanced.

Well, shoot! That seems like a big oversight (on the dev's part). Nice way around it ^.^ Thanks a lot!

@lilwhitemouse Looked into adding number of blocks per tile as a mods option. Turns out that requires programming the mod in C#. Well beyond my meager, at best, xml skills.

So, I made another version that uses 3 per tile and then renamed the original.

I think 2 makes it a wee bit too easy (firebreaks become super cheap!)?

@Storm you are welcome!

@lilwhitemouse I may look in to the mods option, this being my first mod, not sure how that will work out :) But you are right, it would be cool.

Play with it a bit and let me know what you think though. The other option is I could release a version with 3 as the setting.

I had been thinking 3 might be reasonable: pawns could use little pieces that would otherwise be unusable, while still needing some larger pieces. I'm not sure if 2 might be too low for balance, but I might be willing to give it a go anyway :)

Thanks - I'd been thinking abou something like this as soon as I saw flagstone...

(maybe a "mod option" for how much cheaper it'd be?)

Thank you, Black!

That was my thought as well. Slightly less worktime than the ones that could be recycled being the only difference in cost of just seemed completely out of balance. With that in mind, I would just never use Flagstone floors.

This gives a better reason to use the cheap ones. I even considered going down to 1 block per, but figured two would be good for a first try to see what people thought.
