I never really got into all this stuff. I tried one or two times, but got striked out by the complexity of all this ^^" (I managed to put together a not so bad mod for The Witcher 3, though, but never a simple asset for C:S). But thanks for the explanation.

As far as I understand it, this could be useful for altering textures of already created assets.
What I'm looking for is a sunken cobblestone "decal" to place on top of roads to create the typical european old town look. A texture compareable to this one would be perfect:
