Many people on reddit have amazing ideas, but can't code them. I, on the other hand have zero ideas, but could code them all. Enter the Reddit's Community Mods Project, where I'll go and find the best ideas from the community, and bring them to life!

Today's trinket is the Charred Die! When holding this broken and burnt D4, upon death (Get it, when you DIE, die pun? Ok I'll stop now) you have a 50% chance of being saved and reviving with an extra soul heart, but also rerolling all your collectibles, exactly like the D4 would. Also, when in the Burning Basement, the trinket will appear more often, and will always work, due to the energy the ashes grab from the flames.
Hope you enjoy this other simple trinket idea! The next mod I'll post will probably be a bit more elaborate, so stay tuned for that. Also, thanks for the love on the Cracked Battery! Really appreciate it!

is it me or sometimes when i throw down a trinket i hold it will turn into this?

This should activate after other respawn items, to avoid rerolling them

wonder if this will get updated for rep and give ashpit the same effects of burning basement.

Thanks to everyone suggesting and liking the mods! The team behind them is currently on holidays/vacations, and it's really hard to get together and make more of these or make fixes to the existing mods. We're sorry, and will be back with a bang in september!

As much as I like the item the sprite makes me a little uneasy. It has ash sitting on the floor but the way the game spawns trinkets it has a shadow a little way below the ash, making it look like it's hovering instead of resting on the floor as the sprite suggests

@Unquadhexium I talked to Merlo about this issue. Unfortunately it's a side-effect of Isaac's current Lua functionality. There's no way currently to have custom trinkets spawn normally, so to increase the chance of finding the battery or die there's a chance for any other trinket to randomly change into one of the modded ones.
