Rebalanced Roster

Description
TL;DR: The character roster is in dire need of balancing. This WILL make the game a tiny bit easier but smart play is still your best bet. Good Luck.

EDIT: Camping Skills being worked on now, should be updated in the coming days. All heroes have had several revisions now but feedback is very welcome.

Compatible with any save, should also be compatible with most mods that don't touch the individual hero files, I made custom effects and buffs files to avoid most conflicts.

After some time with the game, and not being completely satisfied by the changes I've found with other mods, I decided to touch up the roster how I wanted for myself. This is not anywhere perfect, but with some feedback and suggestions, it might get close.

Have some R&R before you venture deeper into the Darkest Dungeon. If you want an overview of my aim with this overhaul and list of all my annoyingly exhaustive changes I've made thus far.

Abomination:
Reverting his terrifyingly strong transformation comes with a larger relief of stress to the group.
Antiquarian:
Disruptive, with a gift for finding riches. She excels at staying alive and harassing the enemy.
Arbalest:
Helpful with crossbow and bandage, with a renewed ability to help her party hold against chaos.
Bounty Hunter:
Unrelenting in his pursuit, refuses to give up his mark and has the willpower to show it.
Crusader:
Pushed to be focused in his role as the Unholy decimating, inspiring mass of steel that you need.
Grave Robber:
Nimble and difficult to pin down, her pickaxe now punctures her target's armor with impunity.
Hellion:
Ferocious and wild, her ability to breakthrough the line to strike out now has power behind it.
Highwayman:
Deadly with blade and bullet, his strikes perfectly find their target's vitals more often.
Hound Master:
His trusty hound has gained more skill and focus at dispatching foul beasts with determination.
Jester:
With lute & sickle he bolsters the party's with new confidence and bleeds his foes dry.
Leper:
Missed strikes are just more chances to improve, the ruined warrior uses each failure as fuel for victory.
Man-at-Arms:
Commands the party with deeper confidence. His riposte demolishing the reaching claws of his foe.
Occultist:
More careful with his wyrd powers, he's less likely to needlessly bleed his companions in dire times.
Plague Doctor:
Excels with remedies protecting her from the infestation that awaits and blighted grenades in hand.
Vestal:
Divine comfort bolstering the party's resolve, her heals helping you just survive the next battle.

WARNING this mod also seems to remove laudanum from the shopkeep when you embark on missions

Yeah I subscribed to this ages ago and found out it was what was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up a lot of the abilities. Why remove mark bonus from highwayman? why nerf pick to the face of all things? I like the idea but the changes are mostly negative. It makes a lot of abilities somehow worse. I wouldnt use it these days.

Hi, I know this haven't been updated in a long time but I've downloaded this mod and it seems like the changes you listed in the "Hero Roster Changes" are not what I see in game. I see some of them but some numbers are quite wrong. Is it just a tooltip bug or is there something wrong (like the mod being too much outdated for use) ?

I'm currently updating the mod to work with the now seemingly final build of the game and DLC.

I apologize for any conflicts that might have caused frustration for players. Red Hook completely changed the format and function of a great deal of code when the Crimson Court was released without notice, and I had put down my work due to this. I am reworking all of my changes and testing balance with the extensive changes Red Hook has made, oddly some of which had exact changes I had myself and are now part of the base game.

It'll be updated when it's done and as polished as I can make it, I will update after play testing on all difficulties and have decided it's worth adding to the sea of garbage that now inhabits the Workshop.

I make no promises that this mod, or it's two brothers will ever see the light of day publicly.

Why does this remove Laudanum?

Do you have plans to do the Flagellant and the Shieldbreaker?
Ramadan Steve 17 Jul, 2017 @ 11:13pm
Hey just FYI- having this mod with the DLC for some reason makes the Laudanum provision item unavailable for purchase before missions.

This mod has not been updated for the DLC, as I don't own it, I cannot make it compatible yet.

hey man your mod is great but i noticed a few big problems first it doesn't let me pick provisions for the "Courtyard" Baron quest except for blood. its also doesn't let me buy Laudanum at all. pls update mod. also one more this pls make Crusader "Holy Lance" usable from rank 2 that would be awesome. :steamhappy:
