This little mod does exactly what it says on the tin; every nation gets an additional research slot, for extra immersion, realism and historical accuracy.

I planned on releasing this with my upcoming mods, but why not already do it now. Some mods add tons more research options (including my upcoming mods), meaning that with the couple of slots you get in the vanilla game, you will be able to get less of the overall research done. I'm also releasing this because hey, some people might enjoy this.

This mod is extremely light-weight and works with any other mod (that includes mods such as Road to '56 and even WW1 mods, you're welcome). Also, it remains in effect even after a country splits up in a civil war and it also will give you the bonus slot if you start in 1939. It will work with newly released countries and countries added through mods. It just works.

Further, the third research slot national focus for nations that start with only two slots in vanilla but turns into a couple of +50% reduction for nations that start with 3 slots, remains unchanged; this means nations that now "start" with 3 slots get 3 additional slots, and the nations that now "start" with 4 slots, get the +50% reductions (I worded this really awkwardly and if you have no clue what I'm talking about than that's also okay and honestly don't bother...it just works)

To make it work and remain compatible, you will have to wait a couple of days (in-game obviously, you stupid).

I've seen two other mods floating around the workshop with a very similar effect, but they were not to my liking. One of them adds two research slots (which I find maybe a bit too much) through terrible coding (sorry man, but never overwrite the entire 00_defines.lua file, dude. Also, changing the start of every single nation is also a terrible way to do this) and the other one only gives it to major nations (and also doesn't work with WW1 mods, which means mine is obviously superior), and then there are some that add more to Germany or Bulgaria (why the hell Bulgaria?) only; also not what I was looking for (just for the record; I've got nothing against either those mods or the authors, I'm just a snarky mother'effer).

One of my aims of all my mods is always as much compatibility as possible. As already stated, this mod is compatible with absolutely everything. If there is a conflict then I'll personally come by your place and will have a look at it and fix it.

This mod is not ironman compatible.
