This poles excuse doesnt hold water. I can assure you that Australia exists (no matter what certain Flat Earth believers say)
Then click on the "Share" button at the righthand side (not the actual "Export" button on the left, since that would export the OSM data file) and manually set the outline for the image export to match the one from the coordinates you previously entered. Choose "PNG" as output format and try to set the scale as low as it allows you to go. For me it was 1:52000, which resulted in a 1990x1990px image of the entire area.
You can still use Google Maps later to cross-reference for actual satellite data of an area, but OSM should be enough to get the basic outline for streets, rivers and forests.
