SKATE OR DIE OR PORTAL!

Description
This one is all about speed. I am sorry but Cave Johnson fired me because I wasn't FAST ENOUGH building the skate park. So you may have to finish waxing the floor to cross the finish line. Of course it doesn't help that Cave decided to make it deadly! Cave's parting words of wisdom were "If the Shop is closed, skate around for a while, take a dip in the pool, or find a companion."

Translation - SKATE OR DIE OR PORTAL! is a 2 minute race map not a puzzle, try following the course and doing it using only four portals, but only stepping through a portal once. Can't make it? You have options.

Not hard enough for you? Couldn't resist the urge to portal your way through and now you are ashamed and need to be punished? Then it's time for the harder version: SKATE AND DIE!
A madman has captured the skate park from SKATE OR DIE OR PORTAL! and made it much harder. It's a race map either WIN OR DIE, THIS TIME NO OPTIONS. The door closes and you fry. (There are still a few tricks that will help you make it past certain parts)

fun, but there isnt really a guiding system as to what you do to complete the test

Thanks Geneosis, I have enjoyed a number of your maps. The two versions give you a choice. I agree I liked being able to try to beat it, but have options if you didn't. But some people found the easier version confusing or didn't like it because you could go anywhere and could portal right to the end. So the harder version is more strict. In either version, only sections are timed, so you can still save if you choose, right before pressing a button is a good spot. For those with super fast reflexes, they can try to beat the whole harder version without saving..

Well I currently think that killing you because you have not the exact timing is not a good idea (god bless F6 key...) so I don't think I will try the "harder" version of the map :p
Anyway this one was quite interesting and fun, full of exploits because of the white surfaces everywhere, but nice ^^

Added two videos - first video is a Low resolution video of failing to beat the cube, to give basic idea. Second video complete spoiler of almost making it, but since it's a race, not a puzzle... Only step through portal ONCE...

SKATE OR DIE OR PORTAL is a race against time to get to the exit before it closes. You can portal your way through, but the idea is to race along as fast as you can. Follow the path around the corner and then basically it is around and down. The lasers hitting the turrets are a "timer". Burning them up slows the laser preventing it from activating the next item. There are a few puzzle elements thrown in, and try to do it using four portals or less. I recommend a dry run to see the obstacles, then race!

I did not quite understand what to do, as I am not good at playing large open maps. The open space encourages curiosity, which can be unwanted. I just portaled downward and flung myself to the exit, dodging all the turrets. I would prefer if a map had concision in what to do next. It was probably just a fun map anyway.
