NOTE: The preview pics were taken using the Dolerite temperate sub-theme, which is linked to the side, but IS NOT the default, so you will have to change it on the drop-down menu for the sub-theme when you select a map when you start a new game---if you want the map to look like the preview pics.

Other sub-themes should look fine, but the map was designed with this theme in mind.

Like the Dolerite theme states, this is loosely inspired by geological formations at the Palisades Inter-State Park in New Jersey, U.S.A. and at Tasman National Park in Australia.


Ridiculous name trivia: The original idea for the map came from a vague memory of the town of Cape Suzette from the Disney cartoon, "TaleSpin," i.e. a bay city surrounded by cliffs which could only be approached through a narrow gap in sea cliffs. Apparently, the name "Cape Suzette" is a pun on the French desert, Crepe Suzette, which is made with the liquor, Grand Marnier ... hence all the orange trees. Doesn't "Gran Marn" sound like an exotic sub-tropical sea-side city though?

Thank you! I appreciate it very much. Unfortunately, as you can see from the note I added, there is a flaw in the ship paths on this map, so anyone building fresh who wants ships to work will have to follow the link above in the description to the corrected version to the map now named "Promontoria." The ships now work for me in playtesting with that version, so hopefully it will for anyone else.

Thoroughly enjoyed the description. Look forward to trying out the map, and added to the TV MOVIES GAMES collection considering influenced partly by Talespin. Thumbed up and well done.
