1. Find example's files in folder.
Firstly,you need to accept Workshop agreement http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/workshoplegalagreement

The next step - Find necessary files in directory .. :\...\Steam\steamapps\common\Half dead\Workshop\Examples\Barney_hockey_mask_mohawk
2. Open example's file.
Download Blender from this site https://www.blender.org/ , install and start it




Delete from “default scene” object “Cube”



Import "Example_body.obj" to Blender's scene



This ok

3. Import your model to this scene
Import your models: head and hair .

ATTENTION! If you have only one model , in example "your_head.obj" , you should import only this one!


The next step you should deform an inserted models(model) in proportions to the body with Scale and Rotate.
WARNING! Don’t use Transform (Moving the model will result to bags and incorrect work).


4. Export model to *.obj
Delete old example's body model.


Warning! You must delete "Camera" and "Lamp" from scene.


That’s what we’ve got:


Export the hair and head in *.obj separately.


In the opened window find Selection Only and put a tick


Do It with head, too:


After all you have 4 files:
  • yourhead.obj
  • yourhead.mtl
  • yourhair.obj
  • yourhair.mtl

“yourhead” и “yourhair” – names have been came up just for example, you can come up with any another name

ATTENTION! If you had only one model , in example "your_head.obj" , you should export only this one!
    After all you have 2 files:
  • yourhead.obj
  • yourhead.mtl


5. Preparing files.
Create new folder and enter name. For example “Cool head”
In this folder must be next files:
modsettings.txt - you can find it in example.rar archive
yourhead.obj , yourhead.mtl – your head model
yourhair.obj , yourhair.mtl – your hair model
texturehead.tga - head texture (for example “texturehead”)
texturehair.tga – hair texture (for example “texturehair”)

Open modsettings.txt and write files names like on example:


Cool head – folder name
Numbers at the beginning of the names corresponds to the character. Write number of the character whose head you want to change.

yourhead .obj – your head model
texturehead.tga - head texture
yourhair.obj – your hair model
texturehair.tga – your hair texture

WARNING If you have only one model . In example - yourhead.obj

Your modsettings.txt looks like this:



6. Export files to the game.
Start the game, then go to Workshop>Submit

Title – enter a name of your mod.
WARNING! Check this! Name of mod = First line in modsettings.txt = Name of your folder which contain your files!
Description – enter description for your mod.
Collection path – enter the path to your folder where your files are located.
Preview image path – create main picture and enter path to this one of your mod. People will see picture of your mod on Steam Workshop.
Change note – enter version number of your mod. For example 1.00 . In the further, If you want to change version or improve it, you can change version number to 1.01.
Tag – enter tags. Tags help to search for specific items upon request on Steam Workshop.

Uhh... I made A texture, Head, I did everything, and nothing works, and also, add a thirdperson camera so people can see if their head is work and good
