DEPRECATED - Left 4 Dead 2 - Dead Space Pack

Mod replaces zombies and sounds with assets extracted from the Dead Space franchise.

Important:
!!!Brute and Alien Necromorph do not come with this mod, models are available as a seperate download, you can find the mods in the collection above!!!

To get past the inconsistency error whilst playing in co-op, the host has to type this to the console in the pre-match lobby:

sv_consistency 0

The sounds have been tested to work both on single-player and on a local multiplayer server. The sounds may not work on official servers even when activating the previous command.

Installation:
Note that the sounds do not come with the .vpk, you have to download them seperately from here:

How to install the base mod:

Just hit the subscribe button and you're good to go!

How to install sounds:

(I suggest making a back-up of the entire sounds folder in case you want to revert the original sounds without pressing "verify integrity of games files".)

Also, to choose between the Brute and Alien Necromorph sounds, change the folder name of either one to "tank" and have it replace the corresponding folder in the player sounds folder.

1. Drag and drop the modded "sound" folder on top of the original sound folder within l4d2 folder.
2. Once it asks you to replace the files, hit yes to all.
3. Delete modelsounds.cache and sound.cache from left4dead2 and left4dead2/sound folders.
4. Launch the game
5. The first things you notice are the broken menu sounds and stuff like that. To fix this, run the console and type in "snd_rebuildaudiocache". This will fix also the screetching sounds in the game. The process takes 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the speed of your hard-drive or if you own a solid state drive.

TIP:
I suggest setting the game to windowed mode so that you are able to use your computer while it rebuilds the audio cache. You cannot ALT+Tab out of the game while it is loading in fullscreen mode.

6. Once it is done, the console says that it has finished the process along with a ton of other messages.
7. Run "snd_updateaudiocache". Mine took only 8 seconds to complete.
8. Once you have activated the two commands, type in "exit" to the command prompt. This will exit the game. Next time you run the game, the sounds will work properly.
