In Survival you usually start with a ship that you have to canibalize to create your first base and then you create a miner, then some defenses and then you have to go further and further to get the resources to expand.

Why not combine it all into one unit? CLANG Respawn Ship is a miner, refinery and assembler, while also carrying a medbay. And it can even defend itself while staying mobile all the time!

Intended use:
CLANG is an ideal Respawn Ship for Solo Survival scenarios fulfilling different roles: Miner, Refinery, Assembler, Med Bay... it’s got it all. You can even attack and salvage light NPC ships like the Business Shipment and such. No more hiding from those pirates!

If not as a starter ship, it’s worth investing your resources in building one for your big construction projects in Survival. Mine the ore you need, and immediately start welding! No need to transfer items between the miner, base and constructor ships. Just mine some ore – set up production of components you need and build without pause. CLANG is All-in-one construction Robot.

Combat:
Use the zooming camera to deliver precise, long distance rocket strikes and disarm your target. Then land on it with the landing gears and slow it down or drag it away for salvage! There are two shoulder hardpoints that you can upgrade with turrets for more firepower.

I spent a day creating the first version of this robot. Its arms were connected with advanced rotors and it all worked fine but then I tested it in Survival and... Clang was not pleased. So it seems like I sacrificed a day of my life for Space Engineers deity and hopefully by naming this creation properly I will avoid His wrath in the future. So far it worked, and this robot is pretty stable.

I’m not sure how, but even though CLANG is a relatively small 65 blocks ship, it contains all these components in one neat package:

- Refinery with 2 possible upgrade slots
- Assembler
- Connected Medbay
- Piston assisted Welder
- Piston assisted Drill
- Oxygen generator
- Connected Reloadable Rocket Launcher with zooming camera
- Landing gears
- 3 cargo compartments
- Ore detector
- Ion thrusters
- Emergency Hydrogen thruster
- Cockpit, Gyro, Reactor, LCD screen, lights and some armor

Don’t forget to use the piston lock when using the tool arms, and also while moving.

This has not been updated since 2016, did you really think it would still work ? Especially after the massive 1.0 overhaul (That I forgot the actual name) ?

This respawn pod version doesen`t work. Thanks for the link to the blueprint. Now I can at least spawn it!

@R4d6 - I think there is a "respawn ship" tab in the mods. That's how it used to work.

minor problem, having issues with the bot's cargo connections. by default, the drill/connected cargo containers cant feed directly into the refinery, and afaik, the assembler cant pull from the refinery either
