Why it happens: It often happens because your ID Ticket of current online Steam session is broken. Some programs tend to do that, or Steam might lose it at some point due to connection issues.
Fix: Restart Steam. If that won't work, restart PC. If this won't fix the issue, uninstall the game, then Steam and proceed to reinstalling them.[/quote]
quick note and probably something to add to this guide, instead of having to restart your pc or restart steam or anything, if having this problem you can also find some buttons on steam that will just.. fix it? like for example if you click the Friends & Chat button (the one on the bottom right of your screen right now!) and press connect, it just fixes it. i'm guessing it has to do with steam finding the id ticket, but i have no idea.
What are your computer specs? Laptop or PC? If laptop, then maybe the game is trying to run the game on integrated GPU that doesn't have proper drivers or specs?
Do you use any antivirus software besides Windows Defender?
I've reinstalled a couple times, verified cache, copied jre and made it java_vm, transferred rsrc from the non-steam version to the steam version, disabled steam overlay (and discord just in-case), and (successfully) solved the java virtual machine error through environmental variables. Java and graphics driver are both updated. This is the first time I've tried running spiral knights on my new computer, a windows 10.
