1 Basics
Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT) is a psychological game of cat and mouse.
1.1 Basics
1.2 Terminology
Term
Description
Terrorists
Every player is a terrorist, but not all players are traitors. Don't get the two terms confused.
Innocents {Innos}
The cannon-fodder of the terrorist world.
Traitor {T's}
No goody two-shoes back-stabbing lying sneaky-beaky rushers. Not to be confused with terrorists.
Detective {Dets}
The hero the terrorists need deserve.
Traitor-Room {T-room}
A room only traitors can access and scheme their dastardly plots. Or also party till the round ends. Your choice.
Traitor-Trap {T-trap}
Dastardly traps that traitors can activate to kill innos with.
Juan Deag Duel
An honor-bound match before the round begins, where two people stand-off with deagles pointed at each other's heads. If one of them are traitors, they are to shoot and kill on the spot without hesitation. Feel free to do this in a hidden location if you do not want to accidentally give away your traitor-ness too easily.
Prop Kill
The act of bashing someone with a prop at high velocities, killing them.
Curb Stomp
If you let a fellow terrorist break your fall, you also (intentionally or not) break them.
Discombob Jumping
The skill of using the discombobulator to boost a forward jump.
Huge Jumping
The skill of using the H.U.G.E.'s high knockback to gently hover around and jump with.
Kill-On-Sight {KOS}
This is called out upon terrorist who have displayed blatantly obvious traitor activity, and should be killed on the spot.
Suspect {Sus}
This is called out upon a terrorist who seems suspicious. It does not warrant a KOS.
Random Death Match {RDM}
RDM'ing is when you randomly kill someone or otherwise kill without sufficient evidence. Even killing traitors without evidence is RDM and very strongly frowned upon. Consider letting the other player kill you on the next round.
Rock-The-Vote {RTV}
A chat command to initiate a map change. Type in either rtv, !rtv, or /rtv into chat.
Life Check
A person may call this out so that other people say how much longer their inevitable death was delayed. Not responding to this is the strongest evidence of suspicion there is, but never grounds for KOS.
Sneaky-Beaky
An adjective to describe traitors who are extra sneaky and devious with their activities.
"Fair and balanced"
See Overpowered
Overpowered {OP}
Most disgustingly powerful piece of crap.
Geagle
A dumb name for the one true golden deagle.
*incoherent rambling with a sudden cutoff*
This little terrorist might be dead, but you can't be too sure about that.
tfw you trip over your own dead body
As it says on the label. Maybe you were caught red-handed when you were dropping a fake corpse of yourself, or a traitor tried to frame you.
The Barrel Map
This refers to the map Black Mesa East, which is known for a particularly high explosive barrel density in one room.
Disneyland
The one-way horror elevator of FUN found in the derelict apartments on the map Rooftops 2016.
Didney-werl
Mesp's hidey-hole underneath the gun store/restaurant (?) on the map Fastfood.
"Huh? What was that?"
If not Mesp: I'm near the site of a recent murder. If Mesp: I'm the traitor and I just killed someone.
1.3 Notable Players
Here's an always growing and evolving list of players who frequent our TTT server. Feel free to provide paragraphs, tactics, and improvements for your or other's bio's.
Name
Background
Traitor Tactics
Traitor Habits
Popzix / Lammie
He's the Grand Master RDM Kingpin. RDM in this case stands for 'Random Dank Meme'. Has an affinity for Deagles, and will RDM to get one.
You could blatantly kill him and blame it for his RDM'ing, and you'd get off the hook. More convincing if he's trying to steal your Deagle. Takes a few seconds to call you out after yelling incoherently, so take this to your advantage.
Acts even more arbitrary than usual when a traitor.
Mesp
Terrible liar. Master of LMGs and tends to prefer unconventional tactics.
Priority target. He's one of the best shooters in town, and can be moderately aggressive against traitors. A surprise attack will be good enough, and make sure you're either a better shot or go with a powerful weapon like a pump shotgun. Sniping works well too. (When doesn't it ever?)
Becomes much less talkative and attempts to kill the first isolated person he can catch, holding fire until he finds such an opportunity. Weapon of choice: the GTFE.
Crash
A long-time TTT veteran; prefers small matches and loves to stack explosive barrels. He's always acting suspicious and alone, to cover up for when he's actually a traitor. Often found camping in hidey-holes, blockaded by S.L.A.M's.
A very good shot, but otherwise no specific strategy in taking him down. If he's not aware, a quick one-shot will be sufficient. Take advantage of him strolling around solo, or when he's distracted by barrels.
Makes an effort to eliminate the stronger shots first. Has an unhealthy obsession with SLAMs.
Ignotis
Somehow manages to not notice when he's a traitor at times, and usually ends up killing themselves on accident too. Sticks with at least one other person if he's nod doing anything immediately interesting.
Consider your job to be automatically completed. Otherwise, a quick generic kill will be fine in most situations if you buddy up with him.
Honestly, who knows? Just wait for him to start shooting then shoot back.
Raus
A traitor-seeking bloodhound; known to pick out traitors and KOS without mistake on even mere conversation. He's an otherwise garbage traitor that you can figure out quite easily without evidence. (Not grounds for KOS, still) He's also a pretty bad shot, so dueling him shouldn't be a hassle.
Priority target. Try to pick him off swiftly and early, as non-instant-kills will get you discovered as he can call you out extremely quickly; using a disguiser would be wise. Another options is to avoid detection and leave him for an easy pickings cleanup.
Primary user of the AK rifle. Until he pulls it out, however, he is difficult to detect.
Skallos
Pretty silent, and usually messes around alone somewhere, even as a traitor. Literally impossible to know if he's a traitor. Very prone to directly jihad bombing his older brother Raus.
He's a pretty poor shot, and doesn't jump to vchatting, so a generic kill will suffice.
A zealous user of kamikaze tactics.
Flawless / TwotPlist
Danish and Dangerous. A great all around player whose only weakness is the fact that it's typically 2-4am in Denmark during sessions.
Quick at calling out, but also low threshold for shooting due to suspicion. Attempting to frame an innocent for a non-fatal attack can be handy.
Prefers distance sniping. Be wary of open places!

2 Weapons
Guns, guns, and more guns. This will be your main method in eliminating whatever terrorist you come across, unless you're Crash, that is. Besides putting holes into things with the power of shooty, some have neat side-functions you can make use of.
2.1 Classifications
Each weapon is different from any other. They individually follow a certain distinguished playstyle, based off of its varying base stats. The current list of "prefix categories" is as below:

Name
Description
Balanced
The weapon has all-around balanced stats, and is a run-of-the-mill basic weapon to utilze.
Power
The weapon focuses on pure damage stats. It usually also shoots significantly slower than most other weps, and comes with high recoil to boot. It is also pretty accurate.
Speed
This weapon employs good firerates over anything else. They're not as strong, and maybe a little inaccurate, but at least the recoil is manageable.
Accurate
Coming with pretty darn pinpoint accuracy, it comes with a little extra damage behind that sharpshooter's bullet. Recoil will be a little high, and has sluggish firerates.
Spray-n-Pray
Forget aiming! Swarm your enemies in a flurry of bullets with ridiculously high firerates. The bullets are more likely to bruise than puncture, and the firing cone is a tad wide.
Brute
These kinds of weapons are a bit more specific with the stats that are chosen. It is designed as a general-purpose PvP shooty weapon for good shots. It focuses on good damage, while sacrificing a bit of accuracy and firerate. It also has some kick to the recoil, but that's negligible with the lowered firerate.
Scoped
It comes with a zooming scope!
Silenced
Comes with a silencer! It reduces recoil, but also slightly lowers damage output and accuracy.
2.2 Pistols
You can only have pistols for a secondary weapon. While they won't replace your primary, they can make up for it!

Description
Discombobulator
A chaotic gravity manipulating pulse device. When it goes off, it pushes all nearby players and pulls all nearby props. While not directly lethal, it can push players off of cliffs or bash them up with props, and it disorients them with heavy view kick. It can be used to discombob jump.
Incendiary
It creates a medium-sized swath of fire, inflicting damage. It can be used as an area-of-denial weapon, but the 5 second timer makes it less useful for when you need some cover ASAP.
Smoke
Create a cloud of smoke that obscures and mystifies. Has the same 5 second timer as any other grenade, so the cover will come up a bit slowly.
G.T.F.O.
Stands for Giant Freaking Explosion. When it detonates, it creates a large cluster of mini discombobs thrown across the room creating total chaos and destruction. Prop killing happens more often with this, but discombob jumping is impossible as the initial grenade doesn't push.
G.T.F.E.
Get The Fire Extinguisher! This devious traitor-exclusive grenade acts like a GTFO, but instead of throwing Discombobs everywhere, it throws Incendiary nades everywhere. Very useful for flushing innocents out of any enclosed space.
Molotov
Creates a smaller swath of fire on impact that lasts longer, making it a more useful area-of-denial device.
2.10 Melee
Name
Description
Knife
A 1-use instant kill for the traitors only. If you find a stabbed body randomly lying about, it is a safe guess to say that Crash is the Traitor.
Crowbar
A good tool for making people stop standing in your way. Alt fire to knock someone about without damaging them, ideally into something that does.
3 Buy Menu
Traitors and detectives are given credits to buy some special tools and weaponry. The buy menu is accessible through the context meny key, which by default is bound to <C>. All item are worth 1 credit, and more credits can be obtained by looting dead traitors and detectives of their credits or killing innocents/traitors depending on your role. Innocents cannot use credits.
3.1 Traitor Shop
Traitors start out with 2 credits to buy things with. An extra lone wolf bonus credit is given if you're the only traitor at the round start. Traitors get credits as a percent of innocents are killed, and an extra credit for detective kills. Traitors can also loot credits off of other dead traitors and detectives.

Drop a fake corpse of anybody! You decide who it is, how they died, and what role they had.
Decoy

DNA Scanner
Traitors (and innocents as well) leave behind DNA evidence on people they kill in close proximity. This can be used to track the location of the perpetrator on the map! Do be informed that DNA evidence expires in a few minutes.
Visualizer
Drop this next to a corpse and you will see where the unfortunate died, where the killer was shooting from, as well as a tracer marking the killing bullet.
Teleporter
This neat tool allows you to set a destination, of which you can teleport to at any time. Don't forget the cooldown!
Binoculars
A very simple tool that allows you to zoom in from a distance; the advantage over using a regular scoped weapon is that this can identify unidentified bodies from a distance. Don't get caught in a firefight as this requires maintaining focus for a few seconds!
Defuser
A convenient tool that can instantly defuse C4's.
Health Station
Drop this and all terrorists can use it to restore their health from a limited charge. Traitors can also use it, so be cautious! This device can be destroyed.
3.2.3 Passive Effect Items
Name
Description
Body Armor
Grants a generic damage resistance.
Radar
Shows radar signals of every living person on the map. Takes a minute or two to recharge before you can rescan.
4 Tactics
4.1 Innocent Tactics
Stick together! Groups of threes are best just in case your buddy pair was a traitor…unless both your pals are traitors then you're screwed. While it may seem like a bright idea, sticking in extremely large groups tends to not end well once a firefight starts; it also makes it easier for traitors to use destructive area-of-effect.

Look for suspicious behavior! Traitors will have to deviate to sneakily kill people. Make sure you report such suspicious activity (unlike Popzix) and keep track of them. The tab menu allows you to tag other people as friends, suspicious, etc.

If you find dead bodies, make sure to ID them, and if a detective is present, call the detective to the body if the DNA is still fresh!
4.2 Traitor Tactics
Act normal! Most traitors inadvertently end up changing how they act and end up being more suspicious. Be aware of how you normally behave and follow that act. It can be helpful to act suspicious while an innocent, letting you keep the same act once a traitor.

Some people also consider being silent suspicious. Not responding to a life check is the strongest evidence of suspicion there is…but it is not grounds for KOS. Try and save yourself by claiming that your mic was muted or that you weren't paying attention.

Are all your innocents clustering together like scuttlebugs? A well-placed C4, HE grenade, or rocket launcher can make short work of the jamboree. Style points if you jihad bomb them B)

Alternatively, you can either pick them off with a ranged weapon if one is available; lure them away using a radio; or cause chaos with smokes, incendiaries, and Mesp's favorite, the G.T.F.E.

Strike fear in the hearts of those pesky terrorists by hanging your freshly acquainted cadavers! Strew them about like bloody marionettes, and stick a tripmine or two for good measure.

Or alternatively, dispose of unidentified bodies with the flaregun or hiding them somewhere where nobody will see. Make sure to sneakily look credits off of the corpses of detectives and your fellow traitors!
4.3 Detective Tactics
You have a DNA scanner, make use of it to track traitors! Tell other innocents to call detectives to dead bodies, and make sure to ID them for good measure so that all innocents can check out the details.

The radar will always report how many living terrorists there still are, even if you haven't ID'd the bodies; don't forget this!

The visualizer can be a great tool to figure out where the kill happened, especially if it was very recent. These will also give away sniper nests!

If you don't have a reason to, don't buy anything from the store! Wait until traitor activity is reported, then accordingly dole out your credits on the tools you need. You wouldn't want a traitor to steal your FN P90, would you? For example, you can buy the defuser when there is a C4 in need of defusing.

The detective has access to a personal arsenal of some of the most powerful weapons. Whatever you do, make sure it doesn't fall into traitor hands!

If you're staked out with a bunch of confirmed innocents, make use of the health station to get your gang back into business!
