Translations

User created translations can be uploaded to to workshop, when subscribing to a translation item, the new language will be available in the settings screen.

Challenges

Challenges are custom scenarios with specific starting conditions and objectives available from Planetbase 1.2. They also allow you to tweak gameplay and visual elements in the game.

When subscribing to a challenge item, it will be visible in the challenge selection screen in the game.

Stuntphish I suspect the game was developed as a complete experiment/setup for the more advanced "Dawn of Man", and while It's a good , very replayable game, and definitely better than the game that aesthetically it was inspired by (a game called Outpost - back in the day).

But I think until/unless the developer falls a bit in love with his old stomping ground we might not have that opportunity. Something like a small gofundme or something and pay for the rights for an API implementation/redesign, for the libraries controlling the various objects/units in the game which could allow a modding community like Tynan's game Rimworld, but that's just my two cents.

As it happens the game is a pretty solid if somewhat limited game, to your point it sort of screams for a mod oriented patch that would allow Martino to take a more hands off approach and let the fan-base have some design fun.

I suspect there's enough enthusiasm to get some interesting mods if that were an option.

Is there no support for modded buildings or units in the normal planets? I would have thought this is what the devs first thought of when they decided to support modding.

The authors of the game, please, add, in the Steam Workshop, the program "Planetbase Challenge (Mission) Editor"!
This program allows game users to easily create new challenges without programming knowledge.
