And you could also add a "bomber" designation (under strike craft/ fightercraft) which would use torpedoes, bombs and other similar player built weapons unlike strike fighters which would strafe enemy craft/structures and gunships which would use premade weapons and hover in (more or less) one place while shooting.
40k takes on the same idea, and battlecruisers are just more heavily armed cruisers, while there is a massive difference in size between battleships and battlecruisers, but little difference between battlecruisers and cruisers.
Both 40k and EVE play a major role in my definition of ships, so I default to such distinctions.
As for gravity guns, I stopped making those a long time ago when my Shrike II required constant updating and broke more times than I care to remember. They simply aren't worth it, so I don't consider them anymore. Missile ships have the designation T or G depending on the type of projectile.
A small note : Battleships are usually the same size as battlecruisers, but with more armor.
Sometimes battleships and battlecruisers have been built off of the same hull.
But, sometimes, battleships are bigger.
You should also add gravity gun/dedicated missile ships.
