And I think it's very interesting that they even had such cars in Eastern Germany. On the other hand, there were only blue and green (fabric) flags used in Western Germany. The leading car or truck had a blue flag, the last one had a green flag (seen on several occasion like convoys of "Bundeswehr", "THW", "Katastrophenschutz" or "Einsatzhundertschaft"). But today the "Einsatzhundertschaften" (stationary police) obviously don't use the flags anymore, instead they use their blue flashlights when driving in convoys.
