1.1 infinite fluids (pumps)
How infinite fluids are created with pumps.
As of the 1.1 update, pumps can produce infinite fluids in two ways, one method leading to the others'. Both methods rely on the outlet feeding into the intake.
1. If an intake pump's 2x2 location is completely submerged, then the outlet will empty out more fluid than previously existed. This will work even using the lowest timer
2. If more than one outlet is connected to an intake, then both pumps will put out fluid (as long as the intake has something to remove). This more than doubles the rate of production.
3. An easy way to fill a selected area is to have one intake with at least enough water to pump connected to multiple outlets at the top of where you want the water level to be, wired to a one second timer. This also prevent overfilling the area.

The only catch to pumps, is the outlet will not work if it is completely submerged, though to prevent mass overflow this may be considered a plus. Also that you'll need a timer or constant triggers on inputs to operate pumps steadily

Stairs. (pumps)
From 1.2 release, most of liquid-making systems do not work, or are not as efficient as they were before. Now, every liquid can be generated by a stair system with pumps. As the water/lava/honey runs down the stairs, it increases its volume bit by bit and it can be pumped over and over again. This strategy requires a lot of free space, but doesn't look half bad and also serves as a container for duplicated liquid. For this to work, you need to have the stairs at least a block high and wide (not tested for larger proportions, but that should work too). Keep in mind, however, that the slower the liquid is, the more space you need for it to flow through - that means, do not make honey tunnels only 2 blocks wide, or it won't be efficient enough
