Origin of William Carter (Don'tStarve Lore Spoilers):
William Carter is a stage perfomer who migrated from London to the UnitedStates. He tried to pay his debts with magic shows but he failed. While trying to achieve real magic he was taken out of his own timeline by his future self. However the paradox of haveing himself imprisioned in an seemingly eternal prison twice seems to be working too well. -- I highly recommend to take a look at the story behind Maxwell and the William Carter Puzzles!
