You need VJoy to create a fake controller and map a keyboard button to a fake controller button. I used the "1" key and mapped it to "Button 1".

Next you need x360ce.

The executable needs to be copied to the game's folder (for me it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\ToyboxTurbos) and ran as administrator. It will not work without being ran as admin!!!

Upon startup, x360ce will complain about a missing file. Click the button to create it.

When the app starts, it will automatically detect the VJoy controller. Click the "Auto" button to have x360ce automatically map VJoy stuff to the emulated Xbox controller. At that point, the icon next to "Controller 1" will turn green.

Next go to "Game settings". Click "Add" and select "ToyboxTurbos.exe". Then click "Start".

The game will run. Create a local multiplayer match, and you'll be able to press 1 on your keyboard to join a fake local player. Press enter for the other, proceed with settings as you wish, leave the AI to battle itself for a few minutes.

After the entire round is done, you'll get the achievement.

Hello, tried VJoy, x360ce and other alternatives I found via videoguides on YT. Vjoy is extremely confusing and the only place I was not even able to bind keyboard keys. Other apps worked, but Toybox Turbos never registered it. If anyone ever manages to make an up to date guide, please hit me up.

Hey - I'm sorry I can't help much, but I wrote this in 2015 and I wouldn't bet on the steps above working these days. From what I can see, x360ce has a new major version, 4.x (I was using 3.x).

"Important: x360ce.exe version 4 works differently from old version 3. Version 4 creates "Virtual Xbox 360 Controller" inside your Windows operating system when running. Version 4 is no longer use INI or DLL files inside the game folder. This allows for x360ce.exe to support more modern games. You must minimise (not close) x360ce.exe version 4 during the game to make sure that it can constantly update "Virtual Xbox 360 Controller"."

It looks like VJoy is now no longer needed, as x360ce provides its own virtual controller.

Maybe if you use x360ce v3.x and vjoy, you can make it work as described above. Maybe?

I'm sadly very short on time since I have grown up and have a family; absolutely no time for any games, nor to update this guide :/

Appreciate the effort mate I'm always grateful when someone goes to the trouble to help others but in this case like jups says - P1 control pad, P2 keyboard, select Multiplayer, select local, start random race, job done. Much less hassle.

Why does this possibly need a guide.

Plug controller in, Go local, Press A.
Also press enter to be player 2.
Play. Ta-da.

Thanks it worked ! With vjoi 1.2, need mark block keys, configure button 8, program must run - no closing, after green buttons in 360, connect player with your configured button 8 and finish 1 race in local to give this one.
