Cool to hear! This is a much older map, so I am sure there is much that needs to be improved regarding roads and rail. We didn't have any of the helpful mods and new roads back then ;) And yes, it is a really difficult terrain to try to replicate in these games. It's more subtle than the game's topography allows. I think with all the new rocks that we got in the free update recently, it will be a lot easier to get closer to the real place. Happy building!!

It really looks like a swedish archipelago, i've used this more than any other map. I often flatten out the islands a little bit.... the east coast of sweden type of nature with steep faultline ridges but overall flatness is very hard to replicate... and generally steep naked bedrock toward the side of the flow of the ice during the ice age (south-ish in most of sweden), and polished smooth bedrock in the opposite direction, and then sediments on more flat areas... i tried for 10 years to make such environments for simcity4 (slightly more inland than this, the type around Bråviken, the bay that leads to Norrköping from the baltic), which on the north side has a sharp rise and then smoother type nature to the south of it slowly leaning upwards for miles, until you get the next faultline (Slätbaken, the bay with a sharp ridge north of it that leads in to Söderköping from the Baltic)... I really never finished the detailing of any of those maps it was just too much work...
