Continuing the theme of holographic transitions as featured in my previous sticker ‘Ninja Master’, I wanted to experiment with a neon sign just to see if the effect could be replicated successfully.



I associate neon signage with Las Vegas, so I used the words ‘Lucky’ and ‘Shot’. I sketched out how the lettering would appear -- initially within a diamond shape similar to the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas' sign, however I didn’t feel like it leant itself to an animation that would draw the eye into the lettering, so I changed the shape to a 4 leaf clover instead, which tied into the luck theme, and with the emanating lines served its purpose.

Half way through development I thought about having some of the signage blink, and the plan became to have the ‘o’ conveniently flicker or wear down to an ‘i’, but at the last stages I removed this as it may be too offensive and violate the workshop rules.

Although the main concept lies within the holographic version, I’ve also spent time getting the paper and foil versions looking just as smart, but inevitably not as clever.
