Heart of the Alps - Innsbruck / Austria

The winter olympic city of 1964 and 1976 is located between Germany in the north, Italy in the south and Switzerland in the west. Because of this location it is one of the main connections between north and south in central europe. The highway route leads through the 192 meter high "Europe bridge" towards the famous "Brenner" pass further to Italy. Surrounded by mountains but still reachable by plane Innsbruck is a well known starting point for tourists all over the year.

What you have here is an height-map import including:
* original highway route positions and intersections,
* original train routes,
* original river, lakes and even forest positions including animal spawns etc.

What you don´t have is a seaport (river too small), there are no oil fields and only minor ore fields. There are also some minor differences in a few parts of the routes caused by the lack of tunnels.

On the map you can find several yellow tree lines. This lines are the approx. positions of the mainroads arround Innsbruck. If you do not want to build original simply ignore or delete them. I play this map with the "All Spaces Unlockable" mod which can be found also here. Feel free to report bugs, send requests or (in case you like it) a rating ;)

Have fun!

Here it is. After I have contacted CO which lead to no result in an ETA of the tunnel implementation for the map-editor I have converted the map to european theme.
You can find it here: http://steamproxy.net/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=458365692
Have fun!

there is one remaining issue... I could successfully import all roads and i´m able to even improve the quality compared to the 81 Tiles version. It already looks quite nice and contains even more roads as previously, especially the mountain roads.
The remaining issue is that CO, by any reason, did not include the tunnel feature into the map editor which again hinders me to make ONE FINAL 1:1 copy of the real infrastructure. I really hate this because, as you might know, there are quite some tunnels arround the city which, if not implemented, they are disconnecting outer parts of the city.
I desided to wait with the final release until this is implemented by CO or modded by a gamer. You can read the post here: http://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/36hit0/european_theme_tunnels_available_like_now/crei6b2?context=3
I want to make one last and perfect update, instead of another 3 variants.
Thank you for your understanding.

Thanks for your posts.
@ drunk@ouzo: I have tried to transfer back roads from a savegame via Cimtographer export but it never worked. I tried this even already before I was releasing V3 and 81 Tiles - no success. I gave it another try just one hour ago and what can I say, I could export all roads and get it back to the Editor with minor quality loss. Well, this saves me tons of hours. I look forward to present the Euro-Setting for V3 and 81 Tiles soon.

Im playing on this map since some day and i must say it's excellent :) Btw i modified a little in the editor to make all the terrain usable with agriculture. Nice road and rail placement.
PS - i've been in innsbruck a couple of times.

@uzigunner, I hope you get it working. I love this map of my home town and was quiet disappointed when I found out that CO didnt include a theme changer... Unfortunately cimtographer is discontinued, so the map has to be redone by hand.

Hi all, i need to convert to european settings, but i had no time lately. I try to do this in the next days or week. I hope there is a way where i can transfer the highways from this map to the new setting, otherwise there will be no other option as to do them by hand again. Lets see.

I'm afraid this map is set to "borean", which kinda defeats the purpose. Would be great if someone could convert it to the european theme.

Is the map set to "european" ?
