The Ghost (Re) is the Recon variant of the Ghost model drone. The Recon variant is able to operate at 4x the range due to its laser antenna, and still carries the same armament and storage as the interceptor variant.

The Ghost is the first of a new wave of drone technology, which was primarily developed to give future cruiser and battleship classes a kind of fire support that was previously lacking against enemy small craft due to their lack of maneuverability. However, given the limited range and capacity of drones, Carriers and their fleets will still primarily make use of manned fighters.
