These are a few of Science's classical things.


Note: this map looks best with shader detail set to at least high. I also recommend turning on antialiasing if possible.

My first attempt at making a Portal-themed map within the confines of the Portal 2 game engine. It's a tribute to (though not an entry for) the P2LC group's "Fizzled Out" competition. I included the missing sounds for the soundscapes, as well as a few other specials such as 2 different GLaDOSs. There's even a hidden signal for those persistent/keen enough to find it. If anything seems to be missing, please let me know.

Interesting fact: in the original Portal, the soundscapes were context-sensitive. For instance, if the intention was to go get a cube, a certain soundscape would play. If the intention was to fling, another soundscape would play. In my map they are only partially context-sensitive. However I still encourage you to take a listen, especially if you are an amateur Hammer mapper.

Estimated difficulty: easy-medium for the pro, medium+ otherwise. Estimated completion time: 10-15 minutes.
This test, in addition to having no fizzlers, also has no cube droppers.

it's nice how you replicated the portal one style really well however this puzzle is too tedious and not fun

Amazing chamber. Figuring out the first step was definitely the hardest part of the chamber. Favorited.

Nope. That wasn't it either. I've recorded myself trying what I thought was the solution but that led to another dead end. As far as I can tell there is no way to build up the momentum to be flung in the third room. You can see my second attempt here: https://youtu.be/OlYnRUhJPv8

FFS. I think I might have figured it out. If I'm right then it's definitely not a "medium" map, lol. I'm going to try it out and see if I'm right.

Honestly what the fuck am I supposed to do? I cannot figure it out.
