I put up a script that is compatible with all BVS versions and all other skyboxes:
Better Vanilla Speed
Large ship max is 128m/s and small ship max is 256m/s
Jetpack speed is tied to small ship max unfortunately. It's ~6% more...

Is there any chance you can release this exact skybox with the following speeds:
Large Ship = 512m/s
Small Ship = 500m/s
Jetpack = 250m/s

I love this skybox, and run it on two of my servers. I prefer a more realistic (hard) environment and I believe these speeds do exactly that for me. Small ships have much greater acceleration and agility, large ships can get a higher top speed but take longer to get there, a little space suit with a jetpack really has no hope to catch any of them.

I think I'll stay with this mod, even with the speed changes mod coming out... realistically 104m/s is really fast even for a human eye to see a ship at close range. Has anyone really tried dogfighting at over 104m/s with guns.... err without colliding?
Keep it up Phoenix! If you can fix it somehow later great, if not, leave it how it is.
So for my worlds when I want dark distant star, I'll stay with this skybox and slower (104) speeds. If you don't see an asteroid until about 200-400m, it's basically too late to stop if you're doing over 104m/s... lol Challenge, I like it. I'll keep using this mod as is!

@pfshfine Yes. I'll probably release version(s) with speed changes, but the current releases will stay as-is, since not everyone will want the speed change as it's a matter of balance.

@Mesmerizer I am aware of this, but you did make a rather generic statement that was incorrect. Anyway refer to the above. Literally the update came out 5 hours ago and I've had other things to do IRL, besides releases multiple redundant versions of something I already put out. So I'm sorry if it's so pressing an issue for anyone.

Yeah, I really like this mod, and so do the players on my server, but it does seem to be incompatible with the speed mod. So, I'm guessing we'd need one modded Environment file that handles both these things?

You're right for the mods handling of Cube blocks, not for Environment.
Using your mod and wanting higher speed is a thing not possible.
So it's a goodbye :)

@Mesmerizer Actually, that's not exactly how Space Engineers handles mods. And the skyboxes work fine as-is. However, it will be default speeds.

Thank you, but changing the max speeds is not within the scope of this mod. For a variety of design reasons right now, I also see no reason to change it anyway.

Your mods will be crippled by the new update for ship speed, because modding is not additive, but file replacing. So the Environment.sbc must be "environment" + "speed". Pls add the speed "2 lines" in this awesome environment mod series :)
I suggest a max speed of 1000 m/sec, the fastest airplane on earth can go 3600km/h (converted: 1000m/sec). Please ^_^
