Introduction
This guide will provide you with instructions on submitting merchandise designs to the Steam Workshop.

If chosen your design could be featured and sold on the Valve Store, conventions, and other online and brick and mortar stores.

Submission Process
To submit your designs visit either the Dota2, TF2 or Portal 2 workshop and select "Merchandise" beneath the "Browse" dropdown.

From this page click on the "Submit your Design" button.

Tip: Stop! Only submit your own original content. Do not upload artwork which belongs to somebody else. It will not be considered and disciplinary action could be taken against your account.

From the upload page enter the name of your submission along with a breif description and artwork preview.

Preview Artwork

Once you've filled in each field select the "Save and Continue" button after agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Your layered art file must be in Adobe Photoshop .psd, or Illustrator .ai format, with a minimum size of 15"x19" at 300dpi, unflattened. To upload your piece select the green upload button on the "Upload Layered Artwork" section of the submission process.

You're able to use the template provided by Valve when applicable.

Tip: Artwork which is too low resolution will be denied as it's not suitable for printing!

The next step in the submission process allows you to add additional artwork and videos. These should clearly display the message of your submission. For example if you have a prototype or a mockup of your design you'll want to include them here.

Tip: Creating a prototype is not always possible and that's ok. You'll want to however make it clear what the end product should look like if it were to go into production.

Once you're done with your submission you can select the "Add/Remove Contributor" link within the "Owners Controls" box to give additional users credit to your submission.

When you're happy with how everything looks select the "Publish" button. Once published users will be able to vote on your submission on the merchandise workshop.

At any time you can access your submission to view visitor stats and comments by clicking on the "Merchandise" link from your Steam profile.
WeLoveFine Process
If your merchandise design was pre-approved WeLoveFine will attempt to make contact with your via your workshop page.

In most cases this can be a long process. Merchandise designs have to be approved by WeLoveFine, Valve and the community before they will go into production. Even if official contact is made with you it does not guarantee that your design will become a reality.

Depending on the type of merchandise that is produced the revenue split will vary.

At the end of each month a report will be sent to you which will details how many of your items were sold, your top selling styles and your page view count. Reports and revenue are only distributed if you've made a minimum of $100 USD since your last report.

Revenue is distributed through PayPal[www.paypal.com]. If you're in a country whose law prevents receiving payments through PayPal wired transfers are available.

@goodbyeZek I'm having the same issue, @Jimo is there a fix for this at all? It won't allow you to fully submit the workshop item without the layered artwork file

Hi there, don't know if anyone can help me, but when I try to upload layered artwork it says the "upload failed." I've tried resizing it even larger than 15"x19" and it's at 300dpi. Thank you!

Can someone help me please?
I can't place my merchandise item before I'm done with
uploading layered graphics file.
And I'm finished. What is the problem, and what can I do?
