Notes

Bestiary Note: You have to kill the enemies, just battling them doesn't count.
Note #2: At least 2 playthroughs are required to complete the Bestiary and collect all augments.
Note #3: You can't get all the augments in the first playthrough, choose wisely.
Note #4: It's recommended to start the game on Hard, then change to Easy on your 2nd playthrough.

Kaipo

You'll encounter the General right after you take Rydia to the Kaipo Inn.

You must kill General before killing the other soldiers. If you don't kill the General first, he will flee before you can get to him.

Killing him will grant the missable bestiary entry, #156 General.

Fabul

Edward will leave the party soon.

Salve Augment: Give one augment to Edward before he leaves the party.
Hide Augment: Give two augments to Edward before he leaves the party.

Give him the augments before boarding the ship to Baron.

Mysidia

Deep into Darkness
You raised Cecil (Dark Knight) to level 25.

This achievement must be completed before Cecil becomes a Paladin.
Cecil turns into a Paladin at the top of Mount Ordeals.

Return to Baron Castle

Ancient Waterway

Palom and Porom will leave the party soon.

Bluff Augment: Give one augment to Palom or two to Porom before they leave the party.
Cry Augment: Give one augment to Porom or two to Palom before they leave the party.
Dualcast Augment: Give a total of three augments to Palom and Porom (with a min of 1 to each) before they leave the party.

Tower of Zot

Tellah will leave the party soon.

This place can't be revisited.

This place will be visited twice, but the ares will be different.

Yang's wife's sidequest must be completed before travelling to the moon for the first time or it will be missed.

This place can't be revisited.

Omnicasting Augment: Give one augment to Fusoya before he leaves the party.

Lunar Subterrane

The Perpetual Wayfarer
Complete the entire map.

Treasure Hunter Augment: This will be automatically received after gaining 100% completion in every map of the game. This includes Tower of Zot , Tower of Babil and Giant of Babil (missable areas).

You can use this map supplement (it only shows the ones that count towards 100%) if you are having any trouble regarding map completion.

Dark Matter: Steal it from Zeromus. It's needed to fight against Proto-Babil in your 2nd playthrough.

"Normal" mode in this release, iirc, is comparable to the difficulty of the initial release of FFIV in the West, back when FFIV was actually titled FFII in the West because the actual II and III entries had not released outside Japan yet. Devs feared the jump in complexity between the original FF and IV would overwhelm Western audiences so they watered it down significantly. "Hard" mode is closer to the original difficulty and demands more engagement and strategy from the player. Maybe author's personal recommendation (and mine as well) is to run 1st playthrough on Hard to get a fuller experience of the game's systems, then shift to Normal to breeze through subsequent playthroughs and collect remaining missable content.

Hey about to jump in, I am wondering why you recommend hard mode on first walkthrough?

Is this game just too easy like Suikoden?

Made it super easy to play the game without the anxiety of having to play it all over again because I missed something.

The Calcabrina is also missable.

The bossfight in the dwarf castle crystal room with Brinas and Calcas.
Kill all the Brinas and Calcas until two remain (any two, can even be the same type).
Then wait and they will combine into Calcabrina.

Tower of Babil - First Visit

#84 Chimera
#87 Naga

Both can be found on B10 of the tower, in small rooms in the bottom right of the map, theres two small rooms right next to each other, i found each monster in each of those rooms.
Right room, using a siren got me the chimera instantly
Left room, naga i just got from walking around the room a bit

If Barnabaz-Z self destructs on you then you don't get a complete bestiary entry. I'm thinking that should probably deserve a special note, as I'm probably going to have to start a third playthrough to complete the bestiary because of it.

Nagas can be found outside Kokkul's Forge so they're not actually permanently missable.

By "Easy", I'm assuming you mean "Normal", or is Easy Mode unlocked?

Tried doing a search on google to check, but can't seem to find the answer. Do boss rooms count towards the map achievement since they are already completely revealed?
