Simple Small Blast Doors

Description
This is a small collection of the simplest small blast doors that I could come up with. Each door piece is controlled by a single motor, no piston assemblies required, so they are fast and reliable. There are 4 sizes, from 1x1 to 2x3 large blocks.

These doors are also connected to the station blocks using the small rotor to large stator trick shown to me by plaYer2k (Thanks man!). This means you could operate them from any control panel on your ship or station, and they are more securely attached than if you were using landing gears. You can learn more about how to do this here:

http://forums.keenswh.com/post/merging-rotor-blocks-6825408?&trail=30

There are two variants of each door on this map. One of those variants is a stripped down, bare bones version with the door pieces copy and pasted nearby so you can see exactly what each piece looks like. These doors are easier to make than you might think, I would recommend playing around with your own designs if this sort of thing interests you.

I would not recommend this, but since the stators and rotors snap together you could technically copy and paste the door components from this world into another and assemble it there for a quick and dirty blast door. I've tried it, and it works, but it's unreliable and prone to breakages. Once you've had a little practice building these doors I'd say it's undoubtedly easier to build from scratch than to try and mess with copy/pasting.

Cheers! Hope this helps!

I've tried building doors of this type bigger and unfortunately it's not very easy. You start running into issues with center of mass and the weight of the panels. It's possible that the panels can get so awkward and heavy that the whole thing will just break when you try to use it. If you REALLY want to use large panels though, try paying close attention to your centers of mass and "balance out" the panels. The closer the center of mass is to where your rotor is attached, the less likely you are to have to deal with panels doing things that you generally don't want them to do, like breaking

you should try making a bigger blast door i am working on one that is for a station the only problem is when i open it a rotor falls off

Haha thanks, I'll try!

cool glad to hear I really like your blast doors an use them a lot, I was trying to come up with a design using small pistons in large ships but just couldnt figure it out but hopefully you'll come up with another genuis build.

Yes, I have. I came up with a couple designs using rotors, but i was never really happy with them. I've tried making some using pistons since the recent updates, but I haven't spent a whole lot of time with it so far. It's definitely something I'd like to work on though
