This guide will give you an introduction to the Steam Music feature.

You can access Steam Music by selecting Library and then choosing View All Music.





If you've not yet setup your library you'll see a white button labelled "Select to add library".







The Library setup screen will allow you to specify which folders you want Steam to scan for music in. To add a folder select the "Add a Directory" button.

You can remove an existing folder by selecting the subtraction icon to the right of the folder path.



You're able to add as many folders as you like.



Once you've made your selections Steam will begin to scan your selected folders for music. When it's done your songs will be available for you to listen to. Steam Music will display common ID3 tags, including album artwork.



If you'd like to add additional folders to your library beyond the first setup you can do so by visiting the settings page and selecting the Music category. From the music settings page select the "Setup Music Library" button to return to the folder manager.

You can make a track selection by visiting your music library.

If you've chosen an album you'll see a list of every song in it. You can select the "Play Album" button at the top to play the album in sequence.



You can also create a queue to play a song straight after another even if they are not part of the same album. This can be done by selecting More with a song highlighted and choosing Add to Queue.




Once the next song in a queue starts playing a Steam notification will appear.




You can access your music library at any time while in a game by opening the Steam overlay and navigating to the Music module. You can also select the Music button located along the top of the home screen.

The music player gives you a set of standard options such as next, repeat, volume, etc.
