When the match starts, keep in mind that the screen is in a fixed position. Don't run straight at your opponent like a fat kid going for an ice cream truck, play it cool and use this to your advantage. If you can, let them come to you. Edge towards them instead of running, and stab liberally.

After the first kill, remember that victory lies not in kills, but in running your pixely ass into the mouth of that big worm. Some of the best moves you can make are jumping over or rolling under your enemy, because you can eat up so much ground that they may have fought so hard for.

Lastly, although it might seem counter-intuitive, losing your sword is a good move a lot of the time. You gain a fair amount of speed and you can find another sword easily enough if you have to, since most people throw them like it's going out of style.

You need to switch your tactics up, or you are doomed to be ganked forever.

Don't spam throwing your sword, they'll figure it out. Not that there's much to figure out.

Don't spam roll-tripping. Unless they never catch on, then spam roll-tripping and keep running past them instead of snapping the neck.

Learn to wall jump without killing yourself. It looks cool and people never expect it.

If you've been playing aggressively, calm down and play slow. If you've been playing slow, spaz out.

Chasing after your opponent and throwing your sword at him is a great way to lose the game, ladies and gentlemen. If they got past you, DO NOT chase them unless you can close ground in literally 2 seconds. Toss a sword after them and then run in the opposite direction. You'll respawn in front of them while they're (hopefully) still running from your first blade.
