There are three 'paths' to complete to obtain the three discs needed to reach the actual fountain. You are prompted to pick a single follower. The flavour text then describes some horrible problem where your follower takes one for the team and gets injured... normally.
However it seems if you pick the correct class for each path you can get through without injury. The Maze requires a scholar. The bottom one a soldier. Not sure which class defeats the snakes (first path on the list.)
Not sure if any of this matters too much as once you reach the fountain everyone seems to get an auto heal, but would be useful to protect your favourite combat characters as there is a battle immediately on entering the fountain area that you don't seem to be able to skip.
- If you don't plan to ally the aztecs (and you're male, testing female so I can romance atm), Coyotl will leave your party and when "La Noche Triste" kicks off you'll be forced to kill him (again, if romanced, another outcome may be possible? not sure).
- If you do ally the Aztecs, not sure what happens to Anacaona (also testing it atm).
- If you don't follow the conversation appropriately during "Sacrifice" the Mestizo girl dies (if recruited ofc). /spoiler]
But as you said, save games are your friends
how do you figure that?
A note to ->"A Sorry Bunch". I got this achievement when i was on the way back to Santo Domingo and 1 soldier was sick. In Santo Domingo i let my doctor heal him complete and became the achievement.
Regarding "Of Pens And Swords", I didn't have the chance to try it yet, but maybe this can be gained more easily than with an escape battle.
I think of the event where near to Xalapa, there is a hut with a shaman who tells you to give him all your money, you can get into a fight with him and he, as shaman, will be the only enemy, so you could maybe stab him to death with your doctors and sholars.
