Starbase Defenses Extended 2
Reintroduces the medium and large military stations which can be build at starbases just like defense platforms.

The technologies required to unlock them are back. They are accessible early on in the game and will also increase the amount of defense platforms that starbases can support slightly; enough to build one additional unlocked station at all starbases.

Includes new section templates for the fortress based on those of the defense platform. The defense station and fortress also each have their own unique station reactors.

Both the defense station and fortress have rare hull point increasing technologies like the defense platform does in the Vanilla game. Three new society technologies that reduce the build costs of the military stations have been added.

The supremacy tradition Armed Deterrence, available to pacifist countries, will also boost the defense station and fortress. New ruler traits can reduce the building costs of the defense station and fortress.

The new stations will perform only slightly better than the equivalent in defense platforms to balance them out and minimize impact on gameplay.

Compatibility
This version of the mod was made to be as compatible as possible. It will only overwrite the Supremacy tradition "Right of Conquest" to make it support all military stations. No other Vanilla files or components are overwritten.

As a result it's incompatible with the previous version of this mod. If you're playing with the previous version of this mod I recommend finishing the game before switching to this version.

Incompatible

Notes
  • When the mod is disabled through the loader the medium and large military stations will be removed. A corrupt design will be leftover in the ship designer.
  • Should be compatible with mosts mods out there.
  • The AI will build these stations.
  • Sometimes, when the text says Defense Platform, it actually means military station in general. Some modifiers will actually be applied to all military stations rather than only Defense Platforms even when the description says otherwise.
  • For more defense I recommend Military Station Fortifier 2.
  • Fallen Empire Military Ships & Stations contains two even more powerful military stations that can be used for starbase defense.
  • Military Ships Extended contains name lists for this mod.

hey so for anyone who reads this the mod appears to be busted, i can build the new stations but i cannot arm them, tried on 3 different runs and same issue

as I posted in the other version, if you're trying to reduce the cost of the platforms, the modifier is now ship_military_station_small_cost_mult

Ok, discovered the reason. It seems the models for the sections for these stations are broken. I will see if anything can be done about that.

Sadly it seems not. It crashes the game when trying to place components in ship designer on the new stations.
