설명
Welcome,

You like playing with Colchis but there are just not enough troups and variety? Especially for your navy although the ancient Colchis had a well known military fleet? This mod is made to help you with a huge new soldier group: The Lion Warriors. Yes, look at your emblem and your banner. You see the lion. And now your enemies will see it too...

Lions of Colchis adds several new land and naval units to the Colchis roaster.

  • Sea Lions: admiral and 3rd level naval unit; throwing javelins
  • Sea Compaions: admiral and 4th level naval unit, upgrade of Sea Lions; throwing javelins
  • Lion Spears: 4th level naval unit; throwing javelins
  • Lion Swords: 4th level naval unit; throwing javelins
  • Lion Hoplites: 4th level land unit, 1x in garrison of ports level 4
  • Lion Pikemen: 4th level land unit
  • Lion Cataphracts: 4th level superior land unit, general's bodyguard with "Hellenisation"

The lion warriors frighten hostile horses and elephants. They can activate killing spree to make more damage. Although they are quite good they are not overpowered, there are still other troups you may call better. Furthermore most of those lion troups got a unit cap of 4-10. You know, there were not enough lions around Caucasus Mountains.

Compatibility and other Stuff
This mod is compatible with most other mods. It will not work with mods that change the military group of Colchis. It fits well to Sebidee's or champLoo's units and to my own unit compilation.
All units have individual 2d unit cards. If you like to see them with 3D cards subsribe to NordoPic Unit Cards.
This mod is included in Part 5 of my NordoUnits Compilation.

Feel free write anything in the comments below and rate this mod if you like it.

Yes, there were lions in Europe, mainly in Greece and parts of the Balkans, until around the 1st century AD. However, they were hunted because they posed a danger to humans and were already rare in Italy. The Romans mostly imported lions from Africa for use in the Colosseum.

Geomania from what i understand lions roamed everything south of the alps out to asia minor until they were hunted to extinction which the colloseum put the last nail in the coffin in

I think it works with all patches, but I can't promise.

I'm guessing that this still works, I haven't touched R2 for a very long time so no idea which update we're on!
(if you can tell me which was the last update I'd be very happy - will save me a lot of time than having to work out on my own!)

Of course it works in campaign.

Does this not work on the campaign?

Therefor all these lion units got a low unit cap. In my opinion, some lions lived there so it's not 100% unpossible but I understand your point.

becasue there were very few lions (mountain lions to be exect) in Georgia, so i dont think it would have been posible to have soldiers wear lion heads. plus nowhere in the known (written) history of Georgia does it say so. anyway it was just a suggestion on my part, and thank you for responding.

Why do you think so?

Although im greatful for all the work that you have done with Colchis i must tell you that what i see in those pictures, even though it looks awesome, is not historiclly accurate. instead maybe you should have had only the flag holder (leader of unit) wear face of the lion just like the wolfs face with the Roman units.
