([2.1] Mett's Expanded Top Bar)

Descrizione
It's always bothered me that at any resolution above 1080p there's basically tons of available space on the top bar for the buttons that are collapsed under "more", so I've made a mod to expand them out onto the main bar.

Lots and lots of credit to Kurim, who made the Steam Workshop cover and edited the icons to match the style of the contacts, situation log, and research buttons and provided the main.gfx edit to allow them to display on-hover color changes. My version prior to that was pretty ugly, so thanks Kurim, you're the best!

I've intentionally designed this as a compatibility patch for Dr. Maple's UI Overhaul 1080p Plus, so there will be no incompatibility issues there, but I can't promise the same for any other mod that edits the stellaris/interface/main.gui file. This means that mods like Dark UI probably won't work unless you also use UI Overhaul 1080p Plus and the compatibility patch for dark UI, in which case it does work.

It also seems to work standalone on my screen at least (which is 1920 x 1080) even if UI Overhaul 1080p Plus isn't installed, but again, I can't guarantee anything for other screen resolutions.

Also, for anyone with a resolution smaller than 1920x1080, I recommend Kurim's Expanded Double Row Topbar. It does basically the same thing as this mod, but splits the top bar into two rows rather than one, allowing it to work with smaller resolutions.

Enjoy!

@MacEnow, no problem at all. I'm glad it made the game more playable for other people, it sure did for me!

@Timrath, sorry but I don't think I have it in me to maintain this when the default game now offers an alternative that's just as good (subject to opinion, of course). UI modding is a major pain in Stellaris. You're welcome to make your own continuation of this mod if you want though. You can either publish it on your own and I'll endorse and link to it in the description or I can add you as a co-author.

I much prefer this layout than the one that 2.2 introduced. Is there a way to keep this mod working in 2.2?

Yeah, in all likelyhood I'll be retiring it in 2.2. Good on the Stellaris dev team for finally making the top bar buttons more accessible. :D

Looks like this mod won't be needed in 2.2, https://i.imgur.com/PwswCWQ.png

With 2.2 bringing new UI changes, I hope you can update this essential mod!

is this achievement compatable?

Does this work with the 1440p UI Overhaul mod?

I just wanted to say this should really be implimented in the vanilla game how useful it is. Thanks for the great mod.

Okay, I've updated it and the issue with the music player being in the bottom right should now be fixed. Thanks for the bug report!
