NEWS
May 3/16 - It looks like they've kept support for the old frontend which is now known as the 'Simple Launcher' and this is designed for that version.

It looks like they've got everything in alphabetical order in the new release, but they ignored series continuity. Since it appears to be done in Unity, it wouldn't be hard to disassemble it and change almost anything I want. I'll take a look later, but in all fairness, it doesn't seem like this is too necessary if the new frontend works well.

April 30/16 - I have not tested this with the new update as I'm in the middle of moving. I should have some time tomorrow to take a look!

Feb. 19/15 - Corrected an ordering issue, Shadow Dancer is now before The Revenge of the Shinobi. Same thing applies as before, unfortunately has to be a separate fix. I have an idea that should make things a bit easier though.

Feb. 18/15 - Corrected an ordering issue, Shining in the Darkness is now before Shining Force and The Revenge of the Shinobi before Shinobi III. Due to the nature of how this works, I will have make a .bat to correct this issue for previous users.

If you're a new user, simply ignore this. If you have no saves or do not care for them, you can simply delete your game and data folder, download again and follow the instructions or wait for a the fix.

June 8/14? - Updated the sorting script using a more efficient method and added save support!

If you had previously used my sorting script before, please look to the FAQ below. You will have to run a separate script to bring yourself to the new standard.
INSTRUCTIONS
To sort your games, download this[www.dropbox.com] and run it from "\Steam\steamapps\common\Sega Classics\data\" to reorder your game list.

The easiest way to navigate to this folder would be to right click on 'SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics' in your Steam library and go to 'Properties'. Now choose the 'Local Files' tab and click 'Browse local files...', place the 'SEGAGameSort.bat' you downloaded into the 'data' folder and run it!

If you have any saves you'd like to retain, we must first determine what your save location is by going to "My Documents". You will see a folder named "SEGA Genesis Classics" or "SEGA Mega Drive Classics". If you do not have any saves, there is no need to run this.

SEGA Genesis Classics[www.dropbox.com]
SEGA Mega Drive Classics[www.dropbox.com]

The save file sorting can be run from any location.
KNOWN ISSUES
Due to how the script works, if you plan on deleting the SEGA Genesis & MegaDrive Classics, you will have to manually delete the 'data' folder where you ran 'SEGAGameSort.bat'.

If you run the wrong script, things will get messy! I have moved the instructions for users before June 2014 to a link in the FAQ in hopes to prevent this happening.
SPECIAL THANKS
Special thanks goes to X'estrix for giving me a much more efficient method to use, to Nabixy for helping me resolve issues with the save file sorting and and everyone else who contributed information for me to finish the list!
FAQ
Q: I have purchased a new game that is not in order, what do I do?
A: Simply follow the steps in 'INSTRUCTIONS' again

Q: I had used your old .bat before June of 2014 and would like to switch to the new one, what do I do?
Currently unavailable while I fix the script! (Does anyone even need this anyway?)

I was just looking for this. Nice one, thanks!
I actually like the simple launcher since its release, but this issue of messing with the roms order always annoyed me.

As a fun sidenote, they're wasting bandwidth as they have you download the compressed and uncompressed ROMs. It's only an extra 50mb or 100mb depending on which way you look at it, but regardless, it's lazy of them.

@BrandeX - Hey, I remember you from SG!

I finally have a moment to myself so I will redownload everything and take a look after dinner.

No, the new release has all new roms in a new directory. The classic emulator is still separate with its own in .pak roms.

Over a year since the last revision, and Sega's gone and spiffed things up. Is there any chance this script could interfere with their new hub?

There is no real order in the original release, they went by the collections 1-5, but that was it.

This simply renames them in order to alphabetize with some exceptions such as preferring to keep a series of games together.

I should take a look over it again, haven't touched it in a while and there seems to be some complaints, but that could just be bugs caused by the .bat file and slow computers.
