Using Fusillade your damage is always elemental, thus it is always boosted by focus, but there is no reason to boost focus when strength boosts your damage and your critical multiplier at the same time.
Using Blast Cannon however your damage remains the base element it is and since cannons do a significant amount of physical base, only strength will affect that.
About little favourites, well, I just like to play Outlander with shotgonne, it isn't the most common build there, but it is the safest to bring into 200+ level content.
Ah yeah, i forget that's how it works. So if there were good pure elemental cannons late game, would a focus cannon build be good?
Currently running around with a 2 hander melee + cannon guy, swapping as the situation requires.
Your emberquaker build is like too good, thats the problem with it lol - i swear it gets easier the higher level you get. I thought flame hammer would make things a bit more interesting.
Im trying to think up a fun little build with weird skills/item choices - zerker seems the best for it but its a really tough class to play for a lot of the game I found - even with a good build. Have you made/found any fun little favourites?
Bonus: the Riftplane Destroyer requires 182 vitality, but you'll have more than that from gear when you finally manage to obtain one. Don't sweat the requirements on it. Of the 2 legendaries at lvl101, that's the stronger one.
Well socketed the Netherrealm Cannon, which is far more common is also a decent option.
Not much on dex really. Just go for pure strength with a cannoneer, all cannons require either strength or strength + vitality. You can put like a 100, but later on you will get more than too much dexterity from enchants anyways.
Fusillade is based on your weapon, thus your damage will always scale with strength using it. Strength scales any of the cannon skills really.
You won't need Flame Hammer. Skip it, I played a cannoneer, it is 100% better sticking to cannons than trying to use Flame Hammer until you unlock Emberquake.
If you want to make a hybrid cannoneer with Emberquake as a fall back, just dump all stats into strength as it scales crit damage anyways, just make sure you have a high crit chance with the melee weapon you choose to make use of the +crit damage you get from strength.
Hammer of Retribution settles this problem easy with +10% crit chance. Use two of that, socket the offhand one with crit chance gems for more fun. That settles it.
It's just not full. Imagine every DoT tick to be logged ingame. That would be hundreds of lines in seconds, it wouldn't be functional.
Now I understand what you mean.
I'm not sure if the combat log is full, not even the console one. It isn't hard to test tho. If you already run some sort of a testbenching, you can always just create a scenario when you can compare a Focus score of ~1000 against 5 or so with an enemy that takes the full DoT to die at 1000 Focus and watch if the target dies at 5 Focus.
Currently I'm not prepared for any functional testing and such, if you have news, I'm interested for sure.
I have no clue what do you mean by "not real" damage.
If you have higher focus, the numbers are higher and the enemies die faster (by taking less hits). In my book, that is more damage.
Please, can you explain what do you mean?
