When the polycount sci-fi competition was announced I considered an MP9 Daimyo to be a shoe-in as it looked both geometric and technical, however one of the criterion was ‘new designs’. So I made the ‘Modular’ instead which has similarities in symbol placement.

I’ve now got around to making a proper Daimyo iteration - although this time there are two ingame (the M4A4 and the Five-seveN) - different colours! I made the MP9 Evil Daimyo first, then shifted the accent colour along with subtle pattern colour and grey adjustments to complement this. Red and Yellow are by far my favourites, Blue runner up; the other two are ok but I feel a bit too much in terms of boldness and saturation. I didn’t make an orange or green as those shades are already represented ingame (Yellow is ingame but it’s a different shade and super basic).

I’ve made a normal map although it is completely optional - the design works with or without. It functions as minor surface texture with edge lines and some panel detail.
