I have a Quad core i5 3.5ghz cpu with a gtx 750 gpu 2gb, and 8gb ram . I am a total War junkie its all I play on pc. That said using the CPUcores last night on Rome II I went from 51fps too 57fps avg on Ultra graphic settings. Also the the bad frame rate drops during 2 or more full army or navy stack sieges with lots of ballista and onager explosions have reduced greatly and are not nearly as choppy as it was prior to CPUcores.

Bottom line, it works for me. If you dont have that ultra beast rig like myself. I reccomend dropping the 20 bones on the product and give it a try.
