Game started with a bad taste. Long initial loading and first crash occurred while entering Driver's Surname. Strange that you have to interact with story/campaign UI elements before getting access to the options menu.
The game lacks support for any resolution higher than 1920x1080 and has no support for 21:9 ultrawide resolutions [or wider]. Game runs smooth at max settings on my i5 6600K and GTX 1070.
Interesting attempt at trying to implement the "GRAVEL Channel" like you're watching yourself racing on TV but with all the official sponsorship they should've got an actual channel to jump on as well (i.e. Speed, ESPN, etc.)
Gameplay isn't that hard, just keep your line and always slipstream/draft when possible. Has a damage/collision system that is very arcadey but does affect your performance. But there is an interesting addition of a 'Rewind' feature that lets you rewind time and quickly fix any mistake you might've made; super EZ mode.
Handling is very rigid and doesn't seem like arcade or simulation -- even though it's advertised as an arcade racer, this handles nothing like SEGA Rally. Reminds me of ice skating.
With all the customization it doesn't make sense since the game isn't a sim and the handling lacks the idea of traction. There is a 'show point' system for doing drifts, jumps (via ramps), and my favorite: high speed.
The art style is very bland in my opinion. Doesn't seem like they spent much time on the racing HUD either. Ridiculously soft lighting reminiscent of a telenovela and lack of texture in the textures make everything seem as smooth as eggs which kinda makes sense since the cars slide like hockey pucks on a newly Zamboni'd rink.
Even with all these quirks the game still plays fine and is pretty fun but was super close to being 'Not Recommended'.
I really hope they fix the resolution issues with an update.

Pros:
  • Deep [non-aesthetic] car customization system (suspension, transmission, brakes, etc)
  • Real rally racers
  • Real rally cars
  • Real rally tracks
Cons:
  • Lack of resolutions higher than 1080p
  • Lack of ultrawide [or wider] support
  • Butt rock soundtrack
  • Feels like just another generic racer
Score: 5.5/10

Conclusion:
If racing games are your favorite video game genre, make sure to check this one out.
If racing games aren't your favorite video game genre, you won't be missing anything by skipping this one but you'll also probably have some fun if you do pick it up.
