Odallus is a story-driven platformer which pays homage the NES-era of Castlevania titles. JoyMasher builds upon the success of their last game, Oniken, and brings a level of much desired polish. It's not often you find a truly amazing throwback game such as Odallus here on Steam; however, this title definently defines everything desireable in a story-driven Metroidvania game!

I found there were things I both liked, and disliked, about Odallus; however, there were far more that I liked than disliked. Here are a few you should be aware of before buying:

+ Odallus sports an immersive story, it has a fully animated cinematic seen before you even reach the titlescreen, as well as a cutscene before you start the first level of the game. Each boss has ample dialog to keep the player entertained.
+ The player character has nice and fluid, tight controls.
+ Much like any Castlevania title, this game has a weapon system similar to Castlevania where you find weapons that act similar to powerups.
+ Weapon usage is no longer convoluted and is bound to a single key, I'm looking at you Oniken.
+ Checkpoints!
+ Enemies drop currency which can be used at shops which are often located at points of interest in each level.
+ Branching paths in the level design offer rewards for exploration.

- Odallus, similar to JoyMasher's first game "Oniken", launches in their own launcher. This launcher offers features that should be handled in the in-game main menu.
